Terms of use
Effective date: 3 November 2026.
These terms apply to the Android app Lock n Learn, package com.locknlearn.app, published by Agentic AI Labs Ltd (“we”). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, uninstall it.
Who may install it
Lock n Learn is a tool for a parent or guardian. You should install and configure it only if you are 18 or over and you are allowed to manage the device. A child may use a device you have configured and may see the learning challenge. The app does not create an account for you or for a child.
What you are getting
The app lets you choose one other app, set a time allowance for it, and show a learning challenge when that allowance runs out. A correct answer, a completed writing goal, or your parent PIN can start another period of use. Questions are stored on the device. The app does not need an internet connection to do this.
The app is free of charge. It has no ads and no in-app purchases.
What we do not promise
Lock n Learn is a family-trust tool. It is not device-owner or device-admin lockdown. In particular:
- It can be uninstalled, and its permissions can be turned off, by someone who can use the device’s Settings.
- It times one chosen app. It does not block the phone, emergency features, Settings, or other apps.
- Android, the device maker, and battery settings can delay or stop the timer. A persistent notification is how you can see that protection is on.
- Practice questions follow England National Curriculum topics stored in the app. They are practice, not a full curriculum, an assessment, or a guarantee of school progress. Writing checks a word count, not the quality of the writing.
- A 4-digit PIN is not a defence against someone with root access, a backup of the device, or physical control of an unlocked phone.
Your responsibilities
You choose the app to time, the allowance, the learning plan, and whether to grant each permission. You are responsible for telling the people who use the device what the app does, including that a learning cover can appear over the chosen app and that a notification stays visible while protection is on.
You must not use the app to lock someone out of the phone, emergency calls, or Settings, and you must not describe it as impossible to remove. The product cannot do those things, and these terms do not allow you to try to make it do them.
Permissions
Usage access, display over other apps, notifications, and the optional Accessibility service are described in the privacy policy and on the permissions page. You can refuse them. Refusing Usage access or display-over-other-apps means the time limit cannot be enforced in the way the app is built to work. Refusing Accessibility does not stop the app from working.
Data
Settings, the PIN hash, learning progress for the day, and writing drafts stay on the device. We do not receive them. How to delete them is on the data deletion page.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use the app on devices you manage, in line with these terms and with Google Play’s terms. You do not receive ownership of the app, its questions, or its name and icon.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the app to harass, isolate, or unlawfully restrict someone;
- redistribute the app or its question bank except as Android and Google Play allow;
- reverse engineer it except where the law does not allow us to forbid that.
Consumer rights, warranty, and liability
The app is provided so you can try a parent-set limit on one app. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you have statutory rights that these terms cannot take away, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to those rights, we are not liable for loss of access to the chosen entertainment app, for a device maker stopping the timer, for learning results, or for indirect or consequential loss, to the extent the law allows that limit.
Changes and the store
We may update the app and these terms. The effective date on this page will change when the terms change. Google Play may suspend or remove a listing under its own policies. These terms do not require Google to distribute the app.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory right you have to bring a claim in your home courts.
